SAN PROPER
perlon - dekmantel - rush hour /amsterdam

San Proper is a well respected DJ from the Amsterdam underground club scene. Over the last fifteen years, he has been spinning in all the major clubs, bars and lounges, in and around Holland. He's known and praised for his House & Disco sets, but also for blending a lot of different styles into an eclectic mix.

San Proper started out as a guitar player. He played with several bands in the live circuit where he gained a lot of experience in music. In ’95 he founded “The Mindmenders”, a Funk/Hip hop band, which eventually won ‘De Grote prijs van Nederland’ in ’99, an annual award-show for upcoming artists. He left the band straight after, to focus more on solo production work and his career as a DJ.

In 1998, together with Alan Luna he founded “Choque” -a club-night about the deeper and warmer sound of quality House music. He’s been organising these programs at top Amsterdam clubs like Mazzo, Bitterzoet, Club 11, Sugar Factory and more. After 2000, San got to play at a lot of special club-nights & parties by Rush Hour. Through Rush Hour's events San got to play sets with heroes like Larry Heard, Boo Williams, Octave One, Carl Craig, Urban Tribe, Rick Wilhite a.o..

In January 2007 he started releasing his "Proper A'dam Family Series" with artists like these. 'Part 4' with O-Boogie got picked up by Laurent Garnier who did an edit of 'Magnificent Speech Funk' for Rush Hour. Proper remixed Ricardo Villalobos on Perlon with a track entitled 'Electonic Water- It ate my quarter' which was released in May 2008. In august his first 12" on Perlon was released which includes the tracks 'December 10th' & 'Keep it raw'. This 12" reached the number 1 position in the Groove-charts for November & December 2009. In this period San put together a solo-live-show playing & integrating several live instruments with his digital live-set-up which he presented during Amsterdam Dance Event with impressive critics in the local papers and massive inspiration for a new show...

In March 2010 Dekmantel records released San Proper's 'Sex Drive Rhythm EP' which got praised by various producers of great distinction through Delsin's promo-mailout. Rush Hour released the latest single by Awanto 3 & San Proper with the tracks "Conquer End Naw House" & "Black Burger" during the summer and Nu Earth Kitchen records released two remixes he did for Jon McMillion. More is yet to come...

MASOMENOS
welcome to masomenos - paris

The so funky duo Masomenos is a productiv partnership between Joan Costes, graphic desiner and DJ, and Adrien de Maublanc, music producer and AD.

When they met in 2006, they almost immediately started working together, expressing themselves throughout different medias such as image, videos, and sound, finding in Masomenos a great playground for their creativity. But it's definitely the music who got the whole story starting.

Bon Voyage was the perfect first project as it was a combination of both their specialty (half selection/half production). It ended up being a one hour bootlegged musical journey that brought them enough positiv feedbacks to keep on this path. Though, they both kept on doing what they were doing before they met: As Joan was digging records and spending time behind the decks, Adrien was builting up his studio, and defining his production style.

The next step was to create their own label, as they understood it would be the best way to express fully their universe musically, but also visually, as this was also important part of their work, that they would keep on developing on the side of their musical activities.
Since then, Masomenos started to be requested for gigs, and naturally they proposed 2 acts under the same name, Joan doing a dj set, and Adrien a live act.
Though it was complicated to stand with this idea, as they were new in the scene, the kept on insisting, as it was for them the only way to present what IS Masomenos: 2 individual personality, inspiring each other with their work, and looking in the same direction.

SETY
circus company- paris

Since the late '90s, Sety has been a fierce and tireless activist within Paris' electronic underground scene, determined to carve out a space for unconventional, experimental dance music. In 1999 he co-founded the Circus Company label, along with fellow artists Kean and Freak, of Nôze; in 10 years, it has grown from a local outpost into an international hub. With a roster including Nôze, Ark, Dave Aju, dOP, Mossa, Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts and DJ Koze, among many others, Circus Company has become one of Europe's most respected modern house labels.

Sety spent much of the label's history working more or less behind the scenes, aside from a handful of tracks for Circus Company, Karat and Logistic. But it's become clear that he's not just talented DJ and curator, but also a formidable producer. His 2008 Sweet & Sour EP—which included a beautiful and often-charted remix by Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts—showed an unusual focused attention to the fusion of tones, textures and grooves in a powerful current of deep house energy. Since then, Sety has gone on to remix Butane, and more releases are in store.

Sety's years behind the curtain didn't curtail his activity behind the decks, however. He holds a residency at Paris' Rex Club, where the Circus Company family comes together, and also plays at some of the world's most celebrated clubs. If you've ever caught him at any of those places, or perhaps at a party with no name in a building with no address, on a night where you lost your phone and have nothing to prove that it even ever happened, you'll know the feeling that Sety brings. As with Circus Company's records, it's a vision of house music that folds its history into something familiar and strange all at once: mercurial, pulsing, unpredictable, sensual, and unforgettable.

STYRO 2000
bruchstuecke - zurich

Styro2000 started his career as DJ Styropor in the beginning of the nineties, and soon created a cult following based on his outrageously experimental-yet-banging sets – a rare talent rewarded by the lively local techno scene with residencies at Zurich’s leading venues Dachkantine and Hive. With “Bang Goes” he represents the duo “Die Galoppierende Zuversicht” that just recently headlined Germany’s legendary Fusion Festival to roaring revues.

Bang Goes and Styro2000 also attracted early attention as producers and have released numerous records, including tracks which have been licensed to various mix CD’s, amongst them mixes from Swayzak, Sven Väth and many more world class DJ’s.

Styro2000 also applies himself to the technical side of electronic musical instruments and develops his own control systems. He further coordinates the „Lethargy Festival“ at Rote Fabrik Zurich, which last month again proved to be the best spot for music nerds, hipsters and clubkids alike during the Streetparade festivities.
